Across our region, there are hundreds of dedicated organisations and people working to improve safety in our region – and the evidence shows it’s working.

From our amazing grassroots community organisations and dedicated youth workers who are supporting young people and giving them better opportunities, to our local authorities, fire service and the education and health sector which are investing in crime prevention initiatives right through to the police who are fighting crime every day.

Mentors in Violence Prevention

Delivered by the Merseyside Youth Association, this programme empowers pupils to identify and communicate concerns with both their peers and school staff, promoting leadership skills and motivating them to challenge behaviours in a safe way.

Beacon Project

Merseyside Fire and Rescue are just one of the many dedicated organisations working hard to make our Merseyside safer than ever. The Beacon Project teaches children innovative alternative skills, all while giving them an insight into what it’s like to be a life-saving first responder.

Violence Reduction Partnership

Working with brilliant grassroots organisations across our region, the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership has reached more 121,000 young people through its positive interventions to prevent violence.

Daniel Fox Foundation

We are united in our effort to prevent serious violent crime. The Daniel Fox Foundation runs an anti-knife crime education programme, educating thousands of young people about the consequences of carrying a knife.

Your area in FOCUS

Merseyside Police receives funding from the Home Office to deter serious violence and antisocial behaviour. This funding is being used to put officers on high visibility foot patrols in the places where they can best prevent crime.

The Inclusive Hub

Based in Bootle, the Inclusive Hub provides bespoke fitness and education sessions to schools, colleges and care groups across Merseyside, focusing their work on those less fortunate and those with additional needs, whilst providing a

platform for young people to steer them away from negative influences, crime and anti-social behaviour.
